A fan's guide to Lee Mack DVDs

Lee Mack is currently one of the most popular stand-up comedians performing in the UK. He is admired by both fans and peers for his relentless energy and ability to generate intelligent on-the-spot quips and one-liners. If you are a fan of Lee Mack, then read on to find out about his DVDs.

Not Going Out

Not Going Out, starring Lee Mack alongside Tim Vine, Sally Bretton and Katy Wix, is an RTS and Rose d'Or award-winning sitcom aired on the BBC. The fast-paced, slapstick show follows the life of luckless Lee and his growing affections for his landlady Lucy. Lee's biggest issue is that Lucy just happens to be the sister of his best friend Tim. To date, four series of the show have been aired, all of which are available for purchase on DVD. A box set of series one and two has also been released. A fifth and sixth series have been written, but are yet to be aired.

Lee Mack Live

Lee Mack Live is the first live performance of the comedian to be released on DVD. The show was performed at London's Bloomsbury Theatre and includes footage of his 2006 sell-out tour. In addition to the live show, the DVD features clips from The Sketch Show, interviews from the BBC Radio two's The Lee Mack Show and on the road footage reading entitled To Cartmel and Back.

Going Out Live

Lee Mack's stand-up returns with 2010's Going Out Live. Otherwise, known as Lee Mack Live at the Apollo, the performance brings Not Going Out and Would I Lie to You to the stage. Would I Lie to You is a comedy game-show featuring Mack as a team captain alongside fellow comedians Angus Deayton (host), Rob Brydon (guest) and David Mitchell (team captain). Decked out in an array of brightly coloured suits, Mack humorously discusses everything from fast-food chain subway to Cheryl Cole. Accompanying over an hour's worth of Lee Mack stand-up, are a short documentary named On Tour With Lee Mack plus highlights of warm-up act Simon Evans.

The Lee Mack Show

Released in CD format, The Lee Mack Show is a must for true fans of the comedian. Series one and two of the BBC Radio two show are available for purchase. The hilarious show features guest appearances from, among others, Midge Ure, Tony Hadley, Andy Bell of Erasure and Jamelia.
