Atlanta is among the prominent cultural hotspots with numerous events and celebrations taking place throughout the year. Art, music, cinema, history and traditional cuisine of the south are a part of the festivities in Atlanta. Each season has its own special events that bring joy to the residents and visitors to this unique city. This article provides you with an overview of Atlanta events.

Summer events

A number of events is celebrated to beat the searing summer heat. Virginia Highland Summerfest celebrates the start of summer with music, dancing and mouth-watering food. It also presents the creations of the local artists. The Classic Chastain Concert Series offers three months of non-stop traditional and contemporary music performances. The spectacular display of Independence Day fireworks at the Lenox Square is not to be missed. The National Black Arts Festival held in downtown Atlanta commemorates the contributions of the people of African origin, and their effect on the other cultures. Winter events

Atlanta offers a wide variety of winter events. Visitors can slip into holiday mood with the Atlanta Ballet Nutcracker concert at the splendid Fox theatre, or enjoy ice skating in the Centennial Olympic Park. Tourists can visit the southeastern Flower Show, a premier horticultural event in winters. Fall events

Yellow Daisy Festival, rated as one of the best Arts and Crafts shows is a major family attraction. Over 500 performers and crafters from several states participate in this event. The EPIC Outdoor Game Fair, in the month of September gives the tourists a chance to explore the outdoors. Other attractive spring Atlanta events are the Georgia Renaissance Festival, Atlanta Jazz Festival, the Laser Show Spectacular, the Atlanta Wine and Food Festival.
