Installing memory at the bottom of the unit

Compaq Presario laptops have two RAM memory slots. One of the slots is located beneath the keyboard and the other one is found at the bottom of the laptop. Whether you wish to install or remove ram for laptop, you must first shut down the computer. Disconnecting units Thereafter, make sure that any external gadgets or devices connected with the unit are disconnected. Remove the power cord from the laptop. Once the disconnections are completed, remove the screw at the bottom of the laptop to add or remove memory for computers from the bottom module. Installation of the memory Now on each side of the module socket, spread the memory tabs in order to release the RAM module. Move the module a little away from the socket. Installation or removal of RAM from underneath the keyboard

The initial steps in case of computer upgrade of RAM remain the same, which involve the disconnection of power cord and external devices from the laptop. Opening the laptop Thereafter, the first step is to turn the laptop unit upside down, and let the rear panel face towards you. Now, loosen the four screws that have secured the cover of the keyboard to the laptop unit. Turn the unit up from the right side with the front facing towards you. Open the face of the laptop as far as possible. Now, use masking tape over the left display hinge in order to provide protection to the hinge from getting damaged due to the keyboard cover removal.
Releasing the keyboard cover Release the cover hook of the keyboard by pressing down on the label part of the keyboard cover. Raise the keyboard cover from the right side and slide it towards the unit’s rear panel. Thereafter, continue to press down on the three pressure points marked on the keyboard cover. This will allow you to lift the keyboard cover gently. Now, you can perform the installation of removal of memory as required.
