A guide to Providence Place, Bridlington

Bridlington, located in the East Riding of Yorkshire, within reach of Hull and York, is a coastal resort which has historically been known as a sea fishing port and civil parish. It is near Sewerby Hall & Gardens and several other picturesque villages. Near the centre of Bridlington, at 11 North View Terrace, is Providence Place, which specialises in supporting those who are mobility challenged.

The Basics

Accommodation Providence Place contains six rooms, two of which are situated on the ground floor with access to the public areas. The resort says it has one fully adapted less-abled room with adjustable medical bed, wheel-in wet-shower room with toilet and an additional bed to sleep for a partner or carer.
Ground floor room For those who have difficulty climbing stairs, a second ground floor room is provided. This room has two single beds and a walk-in shower-wet room with fold-down seat. A stair lift permits access to the first floor for the resort's other four rooms for family, friends or carers.

The specifics

Accessibility Providence Place prides itself on its accessibility options. These include accessible parking, an accessible drop-off point, a level or ramped access to the entrance, accessible toilets and bathrooms, a wheel-in shower, accessible bedrooms and even an accessible restaurant, bar and public area. The resort hires out mobility scooters and wheelchairs, and says that it has a garage with power points and lights for overnight storage.
Other conveniences The resort sells itself as a fully equipped home-away-from-home. In that respect, it has remote control TVs, tea and coffee hospitality trays, complimentary bathroom baskets and information packs with details on entertainment, and other local highlights. In addition, the resort claims that all its rooms are double glazed with fire safety windows.
Meals Meals are fully catered for starting with a full breakfast menu and a lunch menu that has a choice of hot and cold snacks, and packed lunches are provided on request. Impressively, a four-course evening meal is offered with a choice of more than six starters. Providence Place caters for all tastes, providing everything from traditional cottage pie to local fresh haddock and chips. It also prides itself on its desserts, offering apple pie and sherry trifle, among others.
