Add a site to Google: How to
There are a couple of ways to add a site to Google. You can add a site through the Google site, or you can submit a site to Google Websearch. It is important to construct a site correctly for it to have a good rating with Google. A well constructed website will be picked up by Google's spiders much quicker.
Submit site to Google
Navigate to Google.com (addurl/?continue=/addurl) to add your URL. For example, the correct way to enter a site is http://google.com. You can also add keywords and/or comments that describe your site. Click the Add URL button when you have finished entering in your information. Google does not guarantee that your site will be added to their index or make any predictions when it will appear in their search results. You only need to enter the top-level webpage and not each individual page. Google has a crawler called Googlebot that is able to find the rest of the pages once you submit the first one.
Add to Google WebSearch
Navigate to google.com/submityourcontent/index.html. Click Submit a Sitemap through Webmaster Tools on the right side. Sign in with your Gmail username and password. Click the Add a Site button in the Sites section. Enter the URL of your website, such as www.google.com, and click Continue. Verify ownership of your website by clicking Download this HTML verification file. Once you download the HTML file you upload it to your website. This confirms to Google that your site is valid. If you want to use alternate methods of verifying your site, click the Alternate Methods tab.
Best way to construct a site
Adding a site to Google is free and easy to do. Google uses spiders to crawl the web on a regular basis to find sites to add to their index. This is done automatically by Google. Most sites are not manually submitted, but automatically added by Google. Sometimes a crawler will miss a site. If a site is not well connected with multiple links from other sites, was launched after the most recent crawl, the design makes it difficult for Google to crawl the content, or was not available are some of the reasons why a site may not be added automatically. Using a detailed sitemap of your web pages can help your site get added to Google automatically. When you use sitemaps, it makes it easier to submit your URLs to the Google index, and get detailed reports about your sites, such as how many visits you receive. Using sitemaps, informs Google automatically if you make changes to your site. If you submit a sitemap, however, Google does not guarantee the site will be crawled.
