Bournemouth airport parking: The facts

When travelling by air, it is certainly convenient to leave your vehicle at the airport of your departure and pick it up upon your arrival. If you are travelling from Bournemouth Airport and you wish to leave your car at one of the airport’s car parks, read everything you need to know!

General information about car parks in Bournemouth Airport

Proximity
All car parks of Bournemouth Airport are close to the terminals and offer easy and convenient parking. Even if you haven’t booked a parking space earlier, you will probably find a space for your vehicle in one of the Bournemouth Airport’s car parks. In that case, you will have to pay at the gate car park. Pre booking
Yet, if you are interested in cheap car parking, you should definitely consider pre booking a parking space for your car in advance (you can save a lot of money in this way). All of the Bournemouth Airport’s car parks have received the Park Mark award, which can reassure you that your car is safe whilst you travel.

Car Parks 1 and 2

In Bournemouth Airport, you may choose between Car Park 1 and Car Park 2. Car Park 1 is right next to the terminal building. You have to book early and prepay to get significantly lower rates. Car parking prices may begin from (approximately) 30 $ for a whole week! Of course, long stay is cost – effective comparing to short stay parking. Car Park always contains parking spaces for you if you are a Blue Badge holder. Paying for tickets
Car Park 2 is within walking distance and you can pay at the gate car park. You may pay at any of the automatic ticket machines before going back to your vehicle – there are plenty in and around terminal buildings. These machines accept cash and all major credit cards and debit cards as well. Note though that if you use your credit card, you will be charged around 1,50 $. You may also request a receipt. Parking tickets
There is always the alternative of taking a parking ticket from the arrival barrier. On departure, you have to proceed to the exit barrier, insert your ticket and then your credit or debit card. Of course, you will pay more and is certainly preferable to pre book a parking space for your car if you want to save money. Yet if you have forgotten or if you did not had the time and/ or opportunity to pre book a parking space in Car Park 1, Car Park 2 is the best solution for you! You should note that Car Park 2 is closed for the Winter Season and all travellers should use Car Park 1 instead.
