There are also Internet fax services that allow you to send faxes straight from your desktop. Some trusted services are Fax1, Ring Central, and ClickFax. These types of services require you to install their software application on your computer. A modem is not necessary, however, but the computer must be online. These types of services usually use Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, QuickBooks or Microsoft Exchange to send a fax. You have the ability to send the fax through an application on your computer. You can send formatted faxes directly from your choice of application. You are also able to receive faxes online from the recipient using this type of service.

Use iPhone to send fax

You can also use your iPhone to send faxes using email. You need to use an Internet fax service, such as eFax, to send the fax from the iPhone. After you sign up for the fax service, you can send the fax through email. To do this, create the fax as a text on your iPhone. You then send the text using email and enter in the fax number of the recipient. You can also receive a fax back to your iPhone from the recipient.
