How to delete Google search history

Google search history can be stored in your browser, such as Firefox, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. It can also be stored in the Google Toolbar or in your Google Web history. This article will show you how to delete Google search history from each of these locations in a few short steps for whatever browser you use.

Clear Google browser search history for Internet Explorer 8+

Click on Tools from the menu bar at the top, and select Delete Browsing History. Check the History and Form data check boxes, and click Delete.

Clear Google browser search history for Firefox 4+

Click Tools from the menu bar at the top, and select Clear Recent History. Click the drop-down next to Time range to clear, and select how much history you want to delete. Click the drop-down menu next to Details. Check the Browsing and Download History and Form and Search History check boxes, and click Clear Now.

Clear Google browser search history for Google Chrome

Click the wrench icon on the toolbar at the top, and select Tools. Select Clear Browsing data, and then check the Clear browsing history check box in the dialog box that opens. Select the amount of data you want to delete using the menu at the top. If you want to clear all history, select Beginning of Time. Click Clear browsing data.

Clear Google toolbar search history

Click the drop-down arrow on the Toolbar search box, and click Clear History. This clears all history from the Google toolbar.
Clear Google Web history for Internet Explorer 8+ Click Tools from the menu bar at the top, and click Delete Browsing History. Check the Temporary Internet Files check box, and then click Delete. This process can take a few minutes. Click OK when it is completed.
Clear Google Web history for Firefox 4+ Click Tools from the menu bar at the top, and select Clear Recent History. Select Everything under Time Range to Clear. Check the Details and Cache check boxes, and click Clear Now.
Clear Google Web history for Google Chrome Click on the wrench icon on the toolbar at the top. Click Tools and then click Clear browsing data. Select the check boxes for the types of information you want to delete, and then click Clear browsing data. If you want to delete everything, select Beginning of Time using the menu at the top.
