How to delete your Internet history

Every browser keeps track of where you’ve been on the Internet, and sometimes, you may need to get rid of this evidence. It can be for personal reasons or simply to keep your computer clean. The article explains how to clear your Internet history.

Internet Explorer

To clear your IE history and temporary files, go to your 'Internet Options' from the Tools menu. Then, in the General tab, you should have a 'Browsing History' section. In the latest versions of IE, you can easily schedule the deletion of your history, cookies, or any other data . You can also make your browser clean everything when you exit the browser. However, if you want to do it once in a while, you just have to click on the 'Delete' button on that page. Then, you will be shown the choices of what to delete. Choose what you do not want to keep and press delete again.

Google Chrome

Chrome is the Google browser. It is being considerably used in the Internet world. To clear Google Chome's browsing history, it has to be done through the browser's 'Preferences'. You should have an icon that looks like a wrench at the top of the right corner of your browser. Click on it and then, select 'Preferences'. It will open a new tab in your browser. You should have a link that says 'Under The Hood'. Click on it and then, click the 'clear browsing data' button. Select what you want to clean and click on 'Clear Browsing Data'.

Mozilla Firefox

Similarly to Chrome, this is done through the 'Preferences'. The 'Preferences' are located under the Edit menu. When the Firefox 'Preferences' window opens, select 'Privacy'. Click on 'Clear All Current History'. A box will open. Make your selections and then, click on 'Clear Now'. With Firefox, you have the choice to never remember your history. There is a drop-box in the 'Privacy' section that allows you to do that. Just select 'Never Remember History' and then, close the preferences window.
