How to fit your flat panel TV stands

Flat panel televisions are the most widely used televisions in the world today. They not only have great picture quality, but are very slim. This makes them easy to put on a shelf or TV stand. They can also be mounted on a television wall if you do not have the extra space in your home for this type of TV. The article below explains how to fit a flat panel TV stand.

Measure the TV

Use a measuring tape and measure the flat panel TV. After you get all of the measurements, find the place in your home where the TV will fit correctly. Use a stud finder to locate a stud in the wall where you plan to mount the flat panel TV. You need the stud in the wall to allow you to hang the TV stand to it. Mark the placement of the stud in the wall with a pencil.

Choose the area

Make sure the area you choose is close to a power outlet. If you are concerned about wires hanging from the wall, you can purchase a cord cover or other type of cord concealment. You can also hire an electrician to run the television wires through the inside of the wall to an outlet to conceal them completely.

Attach the TV stand to the TV

Attach the TV stand to the flat screen TV. Each television stand is different and you will need to refer to the user manual on how to mount it correctly, and what screws you need to use. Most will require that you install two short beams to the back of the flat panel TV.

Attach TV stand to wall

Attach the TV stand to the wall to mount the LCD TV with television brackets. Before you screw it in, make sure the position is correct. Have someone hold it up for you so you can step back and look at it from a distance. When you are completely satisfied, trace the area with a pencil. Put the stand back on the wall and hold it there as someone else checks the level. Adjust it if it is not level. Screw it into the wall checking again that it is level when you are finished. Hang the flat panel television on the TV stand with the assistance of a friend.
