How to generate free online calendars

An online calendar is interactive and free to use. You can even sync it with other applications (especially if the applications are under the same provider). In this article, check out the four ways in which you can get your own online calendars.

Go to your email account

If you have web-based email accounts, you already have access to web calendars. For instance, when you use log in to your (Microsoft) hotmail account, you will find other complementary services like SkyDrive and (web) messenger on the top bar. On the left bar, you will find contacts and calendar. Click on the link to get started: 1. Set your time zone to start 2. You already have 3 calendars; your own, your (country's) holiday calendar and a birthday calendar 3. Add a new calendar if you want 4. View your calendar by the day, week or month 5. Add an event 6. Add a to-do 7. Subscribe to a public calendar Your list of events and to-do are synced with your own calendar. Birthdays of your contacts appear on the birthday calendar. You can choose to receive reminders for any of these, at the time you choose and the frequency you set.

Use your home-page

Do you have a home-page? If you have a Google account for example, simply sign in to create your own (iGoogle) home-page. Personalise your home page with your chosen theme, location, favourite sites, online tasks (or gadgets) and so on. Then you can get weather forecasts for your area, use mini calendars, and so on.

Use an online service

Zoho.com There are many online services that offer productivity applications like an online planner and calendar pages. Zoho.com offers a good one that you can sign up for free. In fact, Zoho offers a complete set of tools for your business - collaboration, business and productivity applications. Now, you can have a calendar that syncs with the other Zoho applications.

Use a software programme

Publish and share your own calendar You can use a software programme such as a card maker to create your own calendars. Customise your calendar the way that you want with colours, images and even photos. It is fun and you can create as many as you like. Then, print your own calendar or click to publish and share it online. You can even send it by email to people you care for.
