James Cameron: biography

Acclaimed filmmaker James Cameron is hailed for his contribution to cinema. He has been making films since the late 1970s, and has been involved within many aspects of the industry, including: writing, producing, directing, editing, and even acting.

Beginnings

A Canadian by birth, Cameron was born in Ontario, Canada in 1954. He moved to the USA during his teens, and studied Physics at California State University. Jim Cameron's first major success in the film industry, was the epic science fiction movie The Terminator (1984), which he both wrote and directed. Since then, his film list has become extensive and impressive.

Career

Aliens (1986), Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991), Titanic (1997), and Avatar (2009) are some of the well-known films in his repertoire. Cameron has also ventured into television and documentaries, such as Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (2008-2009) and Expedition: Bismark (2002). Unlike many other directors, James Cameron fully invests himself within his movies, in terms of getting involved in the writing, the production, the shooting, and other aspects.
