Quick weight loss diets: the facts
So you want to lose weight quickly. Who doesn't? It can be tempting to look at that new crash diet that's been released for the summer but do you know the facts about these quick weight loss programs? Trying to diet fast isn't always the best option for you and is never the most effective diet.
You won't get the nutrients you need
This is the most problematic part of a quick diet program. While you may lose weight quickly, you're cutting out all of the nutrients that your body needs. Most crash diets require you to stop eating certain food groups, such as carbohydrates or fat. Did you know that your body needs your diet to be around 30% in fat? Crash and burn By not getting enough nutrients, you're likely to feel a dip in your hormones during each day. The lacking of the nutrients can also lead to other health problems - you could become anemic. You'll be burning away more muscle than fat and it's never recommended to do exercise while on these diets, so you can't stop that from happening. Water retention You'll find that with a quick weight loss diet, you'll drop around half a stone in the first week. That doesn't mean that you'll lose that amount every week and you'll actually see this with any simple diet plan. The weight loss is actually getting rid of the water retention and is also partly to do with the body detoxification process that the diet helps with.
You'll put the weight back on
Crash diets are also known as yo-yo diets because of the weight that you'll pile back on as soon as you've finished the diet. People who follow the quick weight loss aids will usually find that their calories are being cut dramatically. They never teach you about healthy eating so you'll just go back to eating like normal afterwards. It will lead to all the weight being put back on. Lose weight slowly The best way to lose weight and keep it off is by following a healthy eating plan and adding exercise to your regime. You don't need to do a lot and you definitely don't need to cut out some much needed nutrients. Audiovisual help There are a number of weight loss DVDs available, which will offer some great exercises that you can do in your own home rather than paying for the excessive gym memberships. It's important to change the way you think about food rather than look for a quick fix diet.
