Tallahassee Airport: Where to book?

Tallahassee Regional Airport is a city owned airport, located four miles from the central business district of Tallahassee, a city in Leon County, Florida, United States. According to local media sources, the airport will be soon getting the largest and most expensive upgrade, since the $33 million passenger terminal was built in 1989.

History

Operations began here on 23rd April 1961 when the Airport was known as the Tallahassee Municipal Airport (TMA). Obsolete facilities
By the beginning of the 1980s, the facilities at the existing terminal were viewed as becoming increasingly obsolete. To compound the problem, the main runway was considered less than ideal for the Boeing 757 and Boeing 767 aircraft that were coming into service.
Runway and terminal As a result, the original runway was converted to a taxi-way and new, longer runway was built. At the same time, a new passenger terminal was constructed and this opened on 03rd December 1989. On 20th February 2000, this terminal was officially renamed the Ivan Munroe Terminal in honour of a Tallahassee pilot Ivan Munroe. He was apparently the first man in Tallahassee to own a plane. Flights Today, flights operated by American Eagle, Gulfstream International Airlines, Delta, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Mesa Airlines and PSA Airlines run flights to Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas Fort Worth, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa.
