The top five moments from the Dr. Phil show

Dr Phil McGraw got his break after successful appearances on Oprah. His forthright manner and simplistic advice make him the subject of much debate amongst his viewers and those who claim to hate him. This article will take you through five landmark Dr Phil episodes.

The Potter sisters

In the episode of May 2, 2005, twin sisters Crystal and Jocelyn Potter claimed to be locked in an argument about appearing in adult movies. Crystal wanted to work in the adult industry with Jocelyn but computer programmer Jocelyn did not go for the idea. Another guest on the show was Dennis Hof who owned the Bunny Ranch, a Nevada brothel. He was enthusiastic about the twins' sex appeal and of making a great deal of money. In reality, the twins were adult movie stars, working under the name "the Potter sisters". They had even appeared in a movies with Dennis Hof. The Dr Phil Show lost some credibility.

Deaf and blind triplets

On February 28, 2007, was Liz, whose six-year-old triplet daughters are all deaf and blind. Looking after the girls is a full-time job made more traumatic by a ten-year-old daughter with no handicaps who must fight for her mother's attention. Liz had started a relationship with a man but it had not turned out as they had visualized. The show explores Liz and George's life.

The grass is greener

A very unusual episode of Dr Phil was shown on May 16, 2003. The show explores the question of whether people leading another kind of life get the rewards or punishment that you would expect. Dr Phil and his guests change places with other people to see what it is like doing another person's job and living their life. Dr Phil himself finds himself working in the complaints department at Costco. In another segment, he sees what it is like to be flying in an F-18 fighter jet. A woman dons a three-hundred pound fat suit for a day to see if overweight people are really lazy and irresponsible. A woman who thinks her domestic life is boring gets a chance to work as a trash collector.
In the June 11, 2002 episode, Dr Phil and his wife swap roles. Dr Phil shares his ideas on relationships with other couples who resent each other's approach to married life.

Caring for family

The July 30, 2003 episode examined coping with family tragedy. Dr Phil throws some light on coping with personal crisis. Parenting techniques were the subject of the episode of August 11, 2002. Parents have the question of making their children obey them. Sibling rivalry, potty training and cleaning up after themselves are questions Doctor Phil tackles.
