What sort of bathroom medicine cabinet?
Do you want your cabinet on the wall? or will it be freestanding - in which case you do not need this article! If you want a wall mounted bathroom cabinet, then read on... Bathroom cabinets come in a variety of materials. Wooden bathroom cabinets are commonest. However, cabinets also come in plastic of various types, and even stainless steel. If the cabinet is in anything other than wood, make sure it has screw holes already made, or a hanging fixture at the back. If it does not, ensure you have the tools to make holes in these materials.
What sort of wall?
The structure of your wall can make a tremendous difference to how easy it will be to fit your bathroom cabinet - or indeed fit anything else to the wall. If it is an outside wall, it may be very difficult to drill into, and you will need strong masonry drill bits. If it is a hollow wall, it will be very easy to drill. However, you will need special rawlplugs for hollow walls. If it is an old property, be very careful and maybe have some extra plaster to hand for patching. Some walls in old buildings have rotted plaster, and only to have a large section of the wall collapse!

Mark the wall carefully Mark where you want the cabinet to go, using a spirit level to make sure it is level. Mark where your screws need to go. Screw holes Carefully make the holes for the screws, noting the points above. Hammer in rawlplugs. Make sure the cabinet will be held securely, especially if you plan to keep a lot of heavy items in the cabinet. Fitting the cabinet Now all you have to do is screw the bathroom cabinet to the wall.
