If you have an office chair that needs to be repaired, or if you want to make your own office chairs from scratch, you will need office chair parts. Material

The type of material that the office chair parts are made of is going to be the most important factor. Material plays a major role in cost, style and durability.
A wooden chair, for example, is very different than a metal chair and metal chairs make a more casual or industrial feel than wooden chairs. Metal chairs, however, may be cheaper than solid wood chairs. When buying parts like chair legs, weigh the look you are trying to achieve with the price to decide between these different materials. A similar consideration exists when buying covers for chairs; here, you will have to decide between a more stylish, but expensive material like leather or a cheaper and more durable material like polyester.

Price

Another important consideration when buying office chair parts is the price.
You want to get the best deal you can on repair parts or on the parts you are using to build your chair. There are a few ways to do this, such as shopping sales. One of the best ways, however, is to buy used chairs or used chair parts. You can disassemble used chairs to get the parts you need, like the legs or the cushions, and get a better deal in most cases than buying brand new parts. Antique stores, flea markets, salvage sales and garage sales are good sources of antique or old chairs that you may be able to get parts from.

Fit and functionality

If you are using chair parts to build a chair or replace one, you need to make sure to measure that all of the parts will fit together. A chair back that is too wide for a seat cushion, for example will not be very functional.
