Where to get individual health insurance

While the UK has the NHS, there are some costs that still force people to be out of pocket. However, it is possible to get individual health insurance in the UK to help with those costs. There are three main companies to go through in order to buy health insurance. These are covered in this article.

Opt for BUPA

BUPA offers excellent UK medical insurance for individuals. There are different plans available, whether you need full private medical care covered, or whether you are just looking for a few basics. Of course, this also depends on your personal financial situation and how much you can stretch to per month. Get health costs covered Something that people need most is their dental and optical costs covered. When these are needed on a yearly basis, they leave many people out of pocket. There are separate plans on BUPA to have these covered, and they are all at a reasonable price. Depending on the plan that you choose, you can gain the full cost of your eye care and dental work reimbursed to you.

Look out for Simplyhealth

While BUPA health insurance is mainly to help with private medical costs, Simplyhealth offers cover against the normal medical costs, such as dental and optical care. There is also help to cover chiropody and other commonly required medical care, and also bonuses for the birth of a child or for adopting one. Different plans for different people As there are some who will spend more on their glasses and dental work each month, yet there are different plans. The most basic insurance is at £10.20 per month, and this covers up to £85 on both optical and dental care. However, the most expensive will cover up to £180 on both, and is £30.60 per month.

Look into Axa Health Insurance

The third one is very similar to Simplyhealth, in the way that there are different plans to cover up to certain amounts for your everyday health needs, such as eye care and dental work. You do need to wait for a month before you can start making claims on most benefits. The different plans There are three different plans on Axa: Bronze, Silver and Gold. These plans do not cover as much as Simplyhealth does - for example, the basic plan only covers up to £35 on eye care and £45 on dental, and that will only cover 50 percent. However, Axa does business health insurance, which is more beneficial.
