A guide to Audi sports cars

Audi produces some of the best sports cars in the world, with their unique blend of comfort, performance and four wheel drive magic. Here is a quick guide to some of their greatest cars of the last few years.

Which cars should I consider?

That depends entirely on what type of vehicle you are looking for. Audi produces a vast array of sports cars, including small two-seater sports cars, monster four-seater, rapid three door executive saloons and even exotic mid-engined super cars. Here are the best from each of these classes.

Audi TT, RS4, RS5, R8.

Audi TT This is Audi's take on the affordable two-seater sports car. Available in both coupe and convertible, this car made its debut in 1998 and has set the benchmark for style for the masses ever since.
Nothing looks this cool (inside or out) for the money and in essence that is what you pay for, looks. The second generation TT that is, in production today (released in 2006) is a very different car in terms of handling. The unique styling remains but, the various alterations to the chassis and engine make the TT for true drivers. Audi RS4 Certainly one of Audi's finest achievements, the RS4 wowed journalists and customers alike with this special car in 2005. Not many cars can hit that delicate sweet spot between luxurious everyday four door, four-seater usability and Ferrari matching pace. A 4.2litre V8, over 400bhp and a wonderful chassis blessed with Audi's trademark four wheel drive system meant that the driver could use the performance on a regular basis, in total safety. It is thus, a very fast but a capable family car. Audi RS5 One of the most talked about sports cars currently on sale today, the RS5 inherits many of the same qualities that made the RS4 brilliant. Audi model It gives everyday usability, higher safety and bullet-proof engineering integrity. This car also has on the road presence that few cars in its class can match, it looks mean from every angle. However, as a driving experience it is not as involving as cars such as the BMW M3 V8 and not as exciting as the RS4 before it. Audi R8 This is Audi's take on the mid-engined super-car theme and 'exceptional' does not quite cover it. Launched on the world in 2006, this car instantly enjoyed unanimous praise from anyone lucky enough to get behind the wheel. Quite simply, its one of the greatest driving machines ever created. Steering feel, throttle response, braking power and the beautifully balanced chassis makes this the ultimate Audi for those who get their thrills from driver feedback. Being an Audi means that a beautiful interior and perfect road manners come as standard.
