Founded in 1864, the University of Denver is one of the oldest private universities in the US. Located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains and south of downtown Denver, the 125 acre campus is home to more than 11,000 students studying both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs through its Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and its Division of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

Degree courses

The university offers Bachelor degrees, Masters and PhDs in the following subjects: Art, Business, Computer Science, Education, Engineering, International Studies, Humanities, Mathematics, Music, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Theatre throughout its eight different schools and colleges. Exchange and internship
The university also promotes its study abroad program which sees undergraduate students gain credits from a semester or a summer internship in a foreign university. Around 70 percent of students spend some time abroad before graduating.

According to US News and World Report, Denver University is ranked in the top 100 universities in the US. The publication ranked the university 86th along with the University of Southern California and the University of Georgia. In addition, it was put in 11th place on the same publication's Up-and-Comers list. Its business school, Daniel College of Business ranks highly for its MBA program. Its part-time MBA course is ranked 53rd best in the US by Business Week, while the university's law school, Sturn College of Law came out as the 77th best in the country as ranked by US News and World Report.

For those students interested in the unknown, the university also boasts the second highest telescope in the world near the summit of Mount Evans.
