Metropolitan Museum of Art

Museum of Modern Art

Also referred to as MOMA, the Museum of Modern Art takes pride in having the largest collection of artworks in the world. The museum has more than 150,000 different paintings, sketches, sculptures, photographs and other types of artworks. Artists Famous artists on display include Pablo Picasso and Paul Cezanne. There is also a library inside which holds more than 300,000 sources on artists and their work including books, newspapers and photographs. The museum is found in Midtown Manhattan and it can be reached by bus or train.

New Museum of Contemporary Art

The New Museum of Contemporary Art first opened its doors in 1977. This museum in the Lower Manhattan specialises in contemporary work and has numerous important artworks from all corners of the globe. The museum is recognised and well-received in the city as well as internationally. Due to the varied styles, themes and concepts, the museum is better geared towards art aficionados which is more knowledgeable in contemporary art. The art institution also has a vast store where visitors can purchase unique souvenirs such as clothing, jewellery and quilts designed by artists.
