A guide to parking at Stansted

There are four options for car parking at Stansted Airport. These range from cheap car parking to using valet parking. As with any airport parking, leaving your car at Stansted is more expensive than leaving your car parked in regular garages or taking public transportation.

Short-term

Parking for less than four hours?
Car parking slots can either be booked in advance at Stanstedairport.com or paid for on the day.
Short-term car parking at London Stansted Airport is the cheapest way to park at the airport for less than four hours. Short stay parking can be used for an unlimited length of time, but, for any stay exceeding four hours, a driver is better off using a different tariff.
Prices for short-term parking starts at £2.60 for up to 30 minutes, while staying for two days costs £63. Further options are available within the short-term car park, including 15-minute entry for those picking up passengers at a cost of £2 and fast-track parking, where the minimum cost is £30 for a maximum three-hour stay (all prices as of May 2011, Stanstedairport.com).

Long-term

Staying for more than four hours?
Available for a daily (or part thereof) fee of £11.50, long-term car parking at Stansted is ideal for those wishing to park for any duration above four hours, despite the fact mid-term parking is offered. Stansted's long-term car park also enjoys a Park Mark award from the BPA, including CCTV, security fences and regular security patrols.
A free bus transfer service to the main terminal operates every 15 minutes, with journeys taking between 10 and 15 minutes. The long-term car park's zone Q also hosts a number of spaces for alternative vehicles, including 130 spaces for blue badge holders, 30 for large vehicles, such as those with trailers, and 30 for motorcycles (all prices as of May 2011, Stanstedairport.com).

Mid-term

Avoid unnecessary charges
Mid-term parking is more expensive than long-term parking, but offers the advantage of being slightly closer to the terminal. Parking is available for £14.30 daily or any part thereof (as of May 2011, Stanstedairport.com). Stansted's mid-term car park holds a British Parking Association (BPA) Park Mark for secure parking, which includes CCTV, secure fencing and routine security patrols.

Valet

Make parking easy
Housed in the short-term car park, valet parking at Stansted Airport allows you to meet a valet at the main terminal building. Prices for valet parking are generated on an individual quote basis, so travellers should visit Stanstedairport.com to book their car in.
