Lake Tahoe
West of Carson City on the border of California and Nevada, Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America. Tourists flock here for the numerous skiing opportunities. This includes the popular Northstar at Tahoe ski area. Water sports and summer outdoor recreational activities are also a magnet for the thousands of tourists who visit the region every year.

What to see and do
The Golden Gate Bridge is a San Francisco icon. Walk across it and then take a cruise under it to really appreciate its size. Take a trip to Alcatraz and view Al Capone's local haunt. Then, visit Chinatown, San Francisco which is home to the largest Chinese community outside of China.

Los Angeles
Home to Hollywood and the stars, Los Angeles has so much to offer to the tourist. What to see and do Take a 'celebrity tour' bus ride around Belle Air and Beverley Hills and see the homes of the stars. Travel along Sunset Boulevard and catch its many famous locations. Once at Hollywood, go to the Mann's Chinese Theatre which represents the walk of fame and home of the Oscars: The Kodak Theatre. Try out the beach at Santa Monica, home of Baywatch, and visit Venice Beach for the wacky street sellers. A treat for any child or adult is a visit to Disneyland at nearby Anaheim. San Diego
Just before the Mexican border is the growing metropolis of San Diego. This once Spanish city still retains its roots through its historic architecture. What to see and do San Diego has wonderful beaches with seafront restaurants, funfairs and attractions. Go to the city's famous zoo. You may as well go to the SeaWorld and to the San Diego Animal Park. For evening activities, get to the Gaslamp quarter for the city's main restaurants and nightlife scene.
