Overview
Bob Books provide users with the chance to create their own books available to download or which can be sent out to you. At first glance, the site is bright and colourful, providing the user with all the options upfront and clearly laid-out options. This means that you will not be confused while finding what you are looking for. The photo gallery at the top of the page further demonstrates the wide range of books available from wedding books, flick books amongst others. The animation on the site is another nice touch, running your cursor through the many options, hence triggering a change in the displayed picture.
Positive points
Easy selection of option Selecting the right option couldn’t be easier. From the front page, you select the type of book that you wish to make either by selecting the picture or selecting the option from the top of the page. You are then, directed to select either hardback or paperback and a further option to have it printed on photographic paper. This option is mainly for photo books and wedding books. Easy designing of calendar Designing a calendar couldn’t be easier either, it is simply a case of downloading the relevant programme and designing your calendar. If you want to learn how to make your own book, Bobs book-store page directs you a clear FAQ page which then, redirects you to a design programme. This is where you can design and publish the book quite easily.
Negative points
Inability to make alterations after sending
You need to make sure that your book is perfect when you send it to be published, once it has been sent, it is impossible for you to make alterations.
Light writing
Some of the writing on the site, particularly on the FAQ page is very light and difficult to read. However, it is not so difficult that you can’t read it, but a darker colour might have benefited the page.
Process of downloading
Downloading the design software took a few minutes, but this might have been an issue with the Internet rather than with the site itself.
