All about power

There are various forms of power. One is physical power, which is essentially energy in its various manifestations, range from electricity to raw nuclear energy through the muscle power of animals. There is also mental power, the ability to solve problems at a speed, which is rooted in the physical energy of the brain. There is also political power. This article will provide information on power.

Energy

Definition of power Einstein stated that energy and matter are identical forms of the same reality. So, energy is the power that drives every event in the Universe. Energy exists in various forms. Electromagnetic energy is light, heat, and a range of other waves, and is the basic form in which energy is transmitted, that is from the Sun to Earth. Power is energy at work. It is energy converted into a useful form. Converting energy to use Fluid power, the energy of moving wind and water, is a great energy source. The fluid contains energy that makes it move and which is converted into electrical power. Nuclear energy releases energy stored in atoms. Energy is also stored in chemical bonds, which are broken by oxidisation to release energy. This is what happens, when fossil or any other fuel is burnt, and it is this chemical energy which is stored in animal muscles. Human bodies work by the release of this stored chemical energy contained mainly of glucose, a stored sugar.

Other forms of power

Yet, it is said that a person has a powerful mind. You look at a person who solves hard problems, often at speed and you say that they have mental power. A person might be able to go on for long periods of time without losing concentration. Here, power is defined as the ability to do tasks at speed, over time and successfully. However, this mental power is rooted in a brain, that is structured to use stored mental energy well. A powerful personality is defined by its ability to have an effect, but this is also rooted in mental energy.
Political power Moreover, there is political power. This can be coercive power, the ability to force your way on the society, or it can be rooted in authority, the situation when power is legitimated by justice and consent. Hitler had power to coerce, but not the authority. All human actions are grounded in physical energy, but authority has a social dimension. It works through social institutions and human decisions.
