How to create your own email stationery

You can use email stationery to add colourful backgrounds in your email. You can create free email stationery in Outlook Express and Microsoft Outlook. It is very easy to do and can be added to your email in a few minutes. You can choose to use the stationery in every email you send, or for just the emails that you want.

Email stationery in Outlook Express

Open Outlook Express and click 'Tools' from the menu bar at the top. Click the 'Compose' tab. Click the 'Create New' button in the Stationery section. The Stationery wizard begins. Select the border, picture or background colour in the background section. If you want to select an image from your hard drive, click the 'Browse' button to select it. Select the alignment and placement of the image or border and click Next. Select the font, colour, size and attributes of the font that you want to use in the stationery, and then click Next. Enter the top and right margin widths, in pixels, for the stationery, and then click Next.Type a name for the stationery you just created, and then click Finish. If you automatically want to use the email stationery you just created, in each email message you send, put a check mark next to the Mail box in the Stationery section, select the Stationery, and then click OK. If you want to use personalised stationery, select the stationery name when you are creating a new email.

Email stationery in Microsoft Outlook

Open Microsoft Outlook. Click 'Tools' from the menu bar at the top, and then click 'Options'. Click the 'Compose' tab from the top of the 'Options' menu. Open the Stationery Wizard by clicking 'Create New' below the Stationery header. From a range of free email backgrounds, select a background colour for the stationery. If you want to use an image file on your hard drive, click the 'Browse' button. Select a page border by clicking Borders drop-down menu. Select the font type, size, and colour from the Fonts table. When you are finished designing the stationery, click 'Next' to select the page margins and orientation options. Click 'Next' again when you are finished. Name the stationery template, and then click 'Finish' to save the new stationery. When you want to use this stationery, click the email Stationery button at the top of the window when composing a new email message.
