How to set up a Verizon conference call

You can use conference calling if you need to have more than one person in a conversation. In order to use Verizon conference calling, you only have to have three-way calling activated on your cell phone plan. You can then connect the other callers to your phone conversation, even if they are not Verizon customers. You can set this up in a few short steps.

Call Verizon customer service

Call Verizon customer service and ask them to enable the conference calling feature to your cell phone plan. They can help you with your conference call solution. You can find the customer service number you need to call on Verizon’s website or on your Verizon bill. Once you enable conference calling, you simply dial *611 from your cell phone to enter into conference calling. You need to ask Verizon if there is a charge for this feature, and how much it will be.

Call the first person

Call the first person you want to conference call by dialing their phone number as you normally would. Wait for them to answer their phone, and then inform them that you are going to place them on hold so that you can conference into the other person you want to include in the conference call.

Call the second person

Dial the second person’s phone number from your cell phone and press the Send button on your phone to place the call. When you start dialing their phone number, your phone system will automatically place the first person you called on hold so that you can make your Verizon conference call. Press the Send button on your cell phone a second time when the other person answers the call. This connects you and the other people you called on the conference call. If the other person does not answer their phone, you will have to press the Send button on your phone two times to disconnect the call, and return to the first person you called.

End the conference call

Press the Disconnect/End Call button on your cell phone to end the conference call. If anyone on the conference calls needs to disconnect from the call, they can do so by simply hanging up their cell phone, or ending the Verizon conferencing call on their end.
