Choosing your subject
The first thing that you are going to have to do is to select your subjects. Naturally, there is no real right or wrong way of going about this, it will ultimately depend on your intention and tastes. Suffice to say that however, choosing colourful and healthy fruits of the world
(especially exotic fruit) will probably be a good idea.
Sliced fruit
Nonetheless, you are not restricted to simply placing your fruit in a neat little basket. There are in fact many things which you can do with the fruits to make your fruit pics more interesting. One such example is to slice the fruits, and arrange them in unique compositions.
Creating effects
If you do decide to use sliced fruits, you can always play around with things to create some action type pictures. One technique that can be used here is to join your sliced fruit together using tooth-picks. This way, you can arrange the slices into unique and interesting compositions of your own. The final step here will be to use software such as photoshoot in order to do some editing. The aim, of course will be to effectively edit out the tooth-picks.
Making a splash
Another technique that can be used to create some stunning images of fruits is to simply drop them into a bowl or tank of liquid. Naturally, you will have to have a few trials runs, making adjustments along the way. However, capturing that moment when the fruit hits the liquid will result in some pretty impressive effects.
Translucent fruit
Another technique that can be used to produce a great effect is to use very thin slices of fruits, and then literally light them up to give a translucent effect. This can be fairly easily done without the need for any expensive, specialist equipment. Simply place any table lamp on a chair and direct the beam upwards. Then, place a small sheet of glass on a table next to the chair, place a sheet of printer paper on the glass and a very thinly sliced piece of fruit underneath, then snap away.
