The Insane Clown Posse

The Insane Clown Posse are made up of Joseph Bruce, otherwise known as Violent J, and Joseph Ustler who goes under the stage name of Shaggy 2 Dope. They hail from Detroit, Michigan and they are fairly successful in the United States of America not only on the music scene but also on the professional wrestling scene. They have had a string of big hits and although the dating game song has not proved to be a big hit commercially, it has nonetheless captured the imagination of many Insane Clown Posse fans.

The Song

Characters The song is set on an imaginary dating game show which comprises of a host, a regular female on the show called Sharon, a contestant number 1 and a contestant number 2 who are nameless and played by Violent J and Joseph Ustler. The song is a satire on the dating game shows that exist in present day America. A lot of the songs lyrics are very explicit. Sharon, who is looking for the date asks two questions, one to each of the contestants. Questions The questions are sensible with the first one being, 'Contestant #1, I believe first impressions last forever. So lets say you were to come over to my parent's house and have dinner with me and my family, tell me what you'd do to make that first impression really stick?' The response that Sharon gets is very explicit but is supposed to be humorous. It mentions such explicitness as threatening to have sex with Sharon's mum and punching her dad in the face whilst completely naked. The audience In between the rapping from the performers the song includes applause and laughter from the 'audience.' At the end of the song, following a third question, the two contestants begin to compete with each other, via more rap, saying what each one would do to Sharon. The lines continue to be explicit and put down the other contestant whilst also trying to make themselves sound good. In the end, it is not said who Sharon chooses. The song also comes with one of ICP's videos.
