Pros and cons of holidaying at adults only resorts abroad

Adults only holidays around the world can offer a relaxing and tranquil experience in an exotic destination. However, it is important to understand the downside of such resorts and why it is important to select the right one.

Pros

Noise free and relaxation comfort The major advantage of an adults only resort, as suggested by the name, is that there are no screaming and shouting children at the resort. This allows adults to relax and enjoy their vacation in a relaxing environment free of the distractions associated with young children and teenagers.
Facilities for couples Adults only resorts also focus all their attention on those older than 21, particularly couples. Hence, such resorts are more likely to have facilities and activities which suit adults, whether they be singles or couples, more than a standard hotel which has to appeal to a broader market, including younger children. Accommodation Many adults only resorts, such as the many Sandals hotels around the world, also offer incredibly luxurious accommodation, with high quality amenities and impeccable customer service throughout the resort. There is also a large array of activities to suit all tastes provided in a relaxing environment designed to ensure maximum enjoyment.

Cons

Price of the holiday There are a number of downsides to the many adults only resorts around the world, most notably the price of a holiday at one of the destinations. Sandals, one of the world's largest adults only resort providers, are renowned for their luxurious hotels and high levels of service, however this standard of resort does come at a price. During the peak summer period, the most affordable room at one of Sandals more popular Caribbean hotels comes in at a cost of £2,996 for a week without a flight.
Homogeneity Another major problem associated with adults only resorts is that they can often be fairly homogenous, with the majority of the resorts, particularly those based in tropical and exotic environments such as the Caribbean, providing incredibly similar offerings.
Inclusive deals Many of the adults only resorts around the world also mainly offer all inclusive deals, which means all food and drinks, as well as some activities are covered in the price of the room. Whilst this can be good to help with budget allocation for the customer, it does often lead to guests never leaving the site, meaning that they never get to see the local culture or interact with the residents of the area.
