Portland, Oregon is a city in the north-west corner of the United States, located between Washington and California on the Pacific Coast. Portland hotel rooms range from inexpensive to luxurious. Places to visit in Portland

Known as the Rose City, Portland sponsors a Rose Festival in June each year, as well. The climate in Portland is very conducive to the lovely and fragrant blossoms of the rose. Day trips Visitors to the area can enjoy day trips to the Pacific ocean, to cities like Astoria, Oregon, which is one of the oldest cities in the region. Seattle is only a three-hour drive away, and Vancouver, Canada is only six. Mount Bachelor and Mount St. Helens are also a day trip away. Other activities
Skiers can ski at Mount Bachelor in the winter and hike or mountain bike its slopes in the summer. For dryer weather, the eastern side of Oregon is also a few hours away.

Historic Pearl District

Another interesting neighbourhood in downtown Portland is the Pearl District. Made up of old warehouses, the area has been redeveloped, and now includes a number of quaint shops and restaurants. It's also a great place for nightlife. Places of interest There are numerous hotels and apartments in the area as well. Located along Pearl Street, the area's many galleries features local artists, and is home to the Art Institute of Portland and the festival called Art in the Pearl Fine Arts and Crafts Festival held annually.
