New York City is the most heavily populated town in the Unites States with over eight million inhabitants. Not only does it house the United Nations, but it's the cultural capital of the world and has a major influence on the global commerce, finance, research, fashion, media, art and entertainment.

Getting around
The New Yorkers benefit from the most complex and broad transportation system in North America. The NYC subway is by far the biggest fast transit system that provides 24/7 service. Additionally, the ferry system connects Manhattan with various locations inside and outside the city. Taxis, trains, buses, expressways, parkways contribute to this energy-efficient major town. The iconic Lady Liberty, Times Square and Broadway theater district, NYC financial district set on Wall Street and home to New York Stock Exchange, bridges, skyscrapers and parks, all have become famous to foreigners.

Architecture
Skyscrapers have always been associated with New York City. The town shares an array of architectural styles, from the Gothic architectural details of the Woolworth Building to the Art Deco design of the Chrysler Building and the international style of Seagram Building.. Parks
Central Park divides Uptown Manhattan into Upper East Side and Upper West Side. Harlem is right above the park. Other major parks include Prospect Park, Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Forest Park and Washington Square Park. The largest is Pelham Bay Park, followed by the Staten Island Greenbelt. Boroughs

The financial center of NYC, home to Central Park and UN is divided in three regions: Lower, Midtown and Uptown.
The Bronx
The birthplace of rap and hip hop culture is the northernmost borough of NYC. Cooperative City, one of the largest cooperative housing developments in the world, is located there. It also includes the Bronx Zoo which is the largest metropolitan zoo in the United States housing over 6,000 animals.
Brooklyn
The most densely inhabited borough with over 2.5 milion population, it is famous for its architectural heritage, an independent art scene and cultural diversity.
Queens
Geographically the largest borough, predominantly residential and middle class. It is the location of Citi Field, home to the New York Mets, and yearly host of the US Open. Additionally, two of the three major airports serving NYC are located there, La Guardia (LGA) and John F. Kennedy International (JFK).
Staten Island
Connected to Brooklyn through the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and to Manhattan via the free Staten Island Ferry, one of the most popular tourist attractions while it provides supreme views to Liberty Statue, Ellis Island and lower Manhattan.
