Buy N Sell Staffs: The facts

There is an increasing number of free-to-use classified advert sites appearing across the internet. Whilst many of these might spread the whole length and breadth of the United Kingdom, a number of sites of this type specialises in particular localities. This article shall be looking at just one of those: Buy N Sell Staffs.

About the site

Buy N Sell Staffs is a classified advertising website that is predominately aimed towards people living in the county of Staffordshire. It allows users to buy or sell items via free advertisements. For sale, there are things such as new and used items and advertisements for personal or professional services amongst many others. The site is broken down in twelve categories with each category having its own list of subcategories.
Main categories The twelve main categories appear on the homepage of the site and are not organised in any particular way. These are [titles quoted verbatim]: - Weddings - Motoring - Out & About / What's On - Health - Beauty and Fashion - Computers & Software - Employment - Private for sale items - Personals - Equestrian - Pets & Supplies - Homes / Gardens - Holidays - Professional Services

Criticisms of the site

Upon loading the website a somewhat bizarre splash screen appears for a brief second or two bearing the words 'Staffordshire Marketing Classifieds Showcase' in large red letters on top of a tiled black and white old time picture of a British town. This doesn't bode well for the site. Amateurish in appearance
The main homepage is decidedly amateurish looking with the main categories squashed all together with a particularly small font being used. Whilst this might have been fine for small monitors of yesteryear, it looks dreadful on a large LCD monitor of today and is somewhat difficult on the eyes. Little to no ads on the site Whilst there are many categories to choose from, most of them are empty of things to buy or sell. It also soon becomes apparent that a number of the classified sections have been hijacked by spammers of one nature or another. For example, a number of them have links to escort agencies or links to sites abroad that ask for payment before you can proceed.
Last updated The copyright notice is dated 2007 which certainly gives you the impression that the site has not been updated properly for quite some time.
