Who is Emily Morgan?
Emily Morgan studied silversmithing and metalwork at Camberwell College of Art. She graduated in 2005 and won a scholarship to study goldsmithing. The scholarship was with the Summer Academy of Fine Art in Salzburg with Giampaolo Babetto. Emily spent the next five years working as a freelance designer and maker of scenery, props and exhibitions in Frankfurt. Emily returned to England and set up a jewellery workshop. She works full-time designing and making exclusive and unusual contemporary jewellery. She has become renowned for her use of rusty objects and her range of kinetic jewellery.
Buying Emily Morgan jewellery
Emily’s jewellery is available on her website, Emily-Morgan.co.uk. When you visit the website, you can choose from rings, necklaces and pendants, bracelets and bangles, earrings, cuff links and gold jewellery. On certain categories, if you put your mouse over them, they produce a scroll down menu. When you look at her selection of jewellery, it’s contemporary and completely different. You won’t find your typical gold or silver jewellery on this website. The jewellery starts at around £28 for a pair of earrings. The more expensive pieces are around £275. When you click on your chosen category, it takes you to a new web page. There are thumbnail images of each piece with the prices underneath. You can click on any of the images and they will bring up a bigger picture to allow you to see more detail. If you put your mouse at the bottom of the larger image, it gives you more detail about the item. When you have decided which item you want, there is a shopping cart under each thumbnail. Click on the shopping cart and it will take you to a new web page. On the page, it gives a product description, the dimensions and the price. On certain items, you can select the length of the chain or specific items that you would like to feature on your jewellery. Once you have made a decision on your item, click on ‘confirm order’. It will take you through to a page so that you can see what item or items you're ordering. You can update your order, pay for your items or carry on shopping. If you choose to go to the checkout, it will take you to a new page where you can submit your order and then pay for your item.
