How to deal with facial hair growth in women
Facial hair growth in women is usually caused by genetic factors. Some races are more inclined to facial hair such as Mediterranean or Jewish races. Sometimes, the cause is due to a hormone imbalance, taking certain medications or disorders such as polycystic ovaries.

Causes
Hormones imbalance
Female facial hair is always unwanted. The causes can be due to a hormone imbalance. As we age, we have more male hormones and this is what causes excess hair either on our body or faces.
Medication
Sometimes medications can be responsible for stimulating facial hair in women, such as anabolic steroids and phenytoin.
Obesity and ovarian syndrome
Polycystic ovarian syndrome and obesity can cause coarse hair growth on the face and neck.
Adrenal tumours
Occasionally, facial hair can be related to adrenal tumours.
Whatever the cause is, the likelihood is that you want to do something about it so what are the options for removing facial hair?
Removing unwanted facial hair
There are options to remove unwanted facial hair.
Shaving
The obvious answer is to shave but this is ineffective in the long term and leaves ugly stubble. The hair will also grow back thicker.
Waxing and hair removal creams
There are the other options of waxing and hair removal cream but the hair will always grow back.
Makeup radio frequency
Most solutions provide short-term respite and include makeup radio frequency. This is a procedure performed at beauty clinics which use laser surgery to remove unwanted hair. It is a procedure which is effective in reducing hair growth but does have to be repeated and will not remove hair permanently and can be costly.
Electrolysis
Electrolysis is the only treatment which is effective in the long-term. It involves applying an electric current to the skin which discourages hair growth and gets rid of existing hair. However, this treatment can be expensive.
Important note
If hormones are causing the growth then visit your general practitioner. You may have to take oestrogen and progesterone if your body are not making enough of these hormones. It will stop further hair from appearing. However, you will still keep the existing ones.
Try various treatments
According to many dermatologists, electrolysis seems to be the only method for permanent removal. As with most things, there does not seem to be a one-size-fits-all solution to the problem of facial hair in women. You will most likely need to try various treatments and see what works for you. However, keep in mind that if the hair seems excessive or you have concerns, speak with your general practitioner for further evaluation.
