This article therefore considers the steps involved in opening DAA using Windows, which is widely used.

What is DAA?

DAA means Direct Access Archives and can be considered as a CD or DVD image which is quite similar to ISO files. It is a proprietary file format for the disk image used by PowerISO to archive large ISO files or support more advanced features of compression, splitting to multiple volumes and password protection features. ISO is the disk image format that allows you to burn disks using burning software such as Nero.

Opening a DAA file

You may be able to open this file for free or through paid software such as power ISO. Extracting the daa file requires that you first convert DAA to ISO file, then you burn the ISO file to a disk or you may extract the ISO to get the file as well. The steps involved to open DAA file include: - Download DAA 2 ISO file and save it, then extract the zip folder. Open the folder and you will have two files having the name daa2iso. - Click on the DAA file application icon and a command prompt will appear, as well as a window to choose your files. - On the window that appears, name your file then save it. - The file will be extracted in seconds (depending on the size of the file). Afterwards, a confirmation window will pop up. - Click on Enter to quit the command prompt. It is important to note that the converted ISO file will also be saved in the same location as original DAA file.

DAA file opener features

DAA has a number of features which are absent as regards to ISO. Yet, on the other hand, a DAA file can be obtained manually by compressing ISO files. Some of the features involved to access files include the ability to save on space by compressing images, password protection features. In addition, DAA can be split into a variety of multiple smaller files. Play files can as well be compressed, thus leading to faster downloads.
