Review: Treasure Island, Las Vegas

Treasure Island is a hotel and casino located in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Its location along the famous strip in the city makes it one of the premier hotels of the resort and gaming city. To learn more about the Treasure Island resort, read the review below.

Themed hotel

Adult-oriented hotel The Treasure Island complex is now also known as ‘TI’ after its renovation which began in 2003 to become an adult-based hotel and casino. It has abandoned its former theme of being a family-friendly resort after it was initially opened in 1993. Rooms The hotel has a total of 2,884 rooms, 220 of which are suites and it has received the AAA Four Diamond rating every year since 1999. Pirate theme The original theme was to attract families with pirate features including pirate battles staged each night in front of the entrance of the casino. This was abandoned in 2003 with kid-friendly areas being replaced by hot tubs, nightclubs and party bars to attract an adult audience.

Entertainment

The original pirate show was replaced with ‘Sirens Cove’, using many of the features of the previous show. The new show was designed to appeal more to adults with singing and dancing as well as visual effects. Cirque du Soleil TI is home to the stage show ‘Mystere’, it revolutionised stage shows in hotels in Las Vegas on the strip and opened as the original ‘Cirque du Soleil’ in 1993. ‘Mystere’ has been voted nine times the best production show in the city, and is the only hotel on the strip to host a Cirque du Soleil show that is not affiliated with MGM Resorts International.
Casino The casino within Treasure Island at Las Vegas has a total floor space of 95,000 square feet with poker, table games, slots and video games and betting.
Restaurants There is a wide range of food available 24 hours a day from Asian, Italian, Mexican and American favourites. The dining experience ranges from upscale to casual. Coffee shops and ice cream parlours are available, catering for every taste. Nightlife
Along with the live stage shows, there are a number of bars and dancing venues where the dress code varies from casual to smarter dress. Some of these are open 24 hours a day.
