What is creativity?

Sometimes, you may wonder what creativity is, or if you are a creative person. Fortunately, there is no true way to define creativity. Of course, you could look it up in the dictionary, but in order to be a true thinker, one must have innate creative intelligence. This article will help you to broaden your mind upon the many types of creativity you probably witness daily.

Creativity in your everyday life

If you think that your life is dull and boring, think again. Rather than picture everything around you as merely a background without figurative colour, take a look at all of the creative innovation which was required to manufacture all of it. Creativity in painting For example, if there is a mural on a side of a building that you walk by every day, take a while and look at it. Normally, every artist includes some sort of symbolism within the painting, meaning that the picture usually has a much deeper interpretive meaning than what is directly painted. Simple exercises such as determining symbolism in murals can greatly increase your creative thinking skills.

How do I become creative?

Unlike logical subjects such as science and maths, art and creativity do not require any certain steps in any specific order. You can branch your creative idea in many directions. For example, if you thought of a poem, you could write it out. You could also make it into a short movie. Furthermore, you could make artwork incorporating it. Even if you have never considered yourself a creative person, you are most likely to blossom with creative activities everyday, and you don't even realise it! Perception leads to creativity
Let's take an engineer, for example. Many engineers are very logical people, who think in "black and white", and are math-oriented. Even a program made by an engineer always has his or her own personal touch on it, that is, their creativity shines through their work. Just remember that in order to be creative, there is no one thing to do. Even if you cannot draw well, there are many ways to be creative that involve computers, programming, painting, and even thinking! You may also have to wait to be inspired by anything in your life. Just remember that in order to be creative, you must be perceptive.
