A guide to buying network accessories
Are you going to set up a network inside your house or office? There are many things which you need to do when you set up a network, and you must purchase certain accessories if you want everything to run smoothly. Find out what you need to purchase for your network system.
Your options
The first thing which you need to do is get the modem and other items set up by your internet service provider. You can start planning to get all the things before, so it does not really matter. Here are a few situations where you do not need to buy anything. 1. If you live in a 1-room apartment, you do not need any wireless setting. You already have one computer which you want to connect to the internet, and the modem is near your computer. In this case, all you have to do is to set up the modem or have someone from the company to do it, and use a LAN cable to connect it to your PC. 2. If you want to set up any type of wireless setting in your network, you need to get some cables and accessories. You are going to need a router which connects you to your modem, and this is usually done with a standard LAN cable. Your router will have multiple ports which you can connect your devices to. In addition, you can set up a wireless set-up with the router. If you want to connect a computer to a wireless internet, you need a computer component such as a wireless card or adapter because having cables for network connection may be extremely messy.
Other accessories
You may need other accessories such as extra long LAN ports, pins to organise and move the LAN ports out of the way, wireless adapters for computers or laptops without built-in wireless, and etc. If you have a printer which is compatible with wireless, you can also set that up very easily from your router. If you do not have a printer which is wireless, you have a few options. You can either just move it around and use it via wireless, or you can connect it to one computer all the time, and you can make it in such a way that people can print using the computer in the network.
