Graffiti on a wall in your house or home could be very challenging, and difficult to deal with. Graffiti is a type of property damage, and if you don't know, or can't properly identify the person or parties responsible for it, you'll personally have to take charge of removing it by yourself. You need not fret though the clearing walls. Graffiti is a relatively easy, and simple task to accomplish. This article gives an overview on graffiti removal from your walls.

Steps to removing graffiti from walls

Steps 1) Buy a chemical remover product that can get rid of the paint used in making the graffiti on your wall. As much as possible, avoid graffiti paint removal products that contain strong cleaning chemicals such as methylene chloride, since they can be harmful and toxic. Instead, consider dense biodegradable cleaners. In addition, read the remover's label to check if the product is safe to use on walls. 2) Use chemical absorbent mats to cover the surrounding storm drains.
The waste products from the cleaning process should never be allowed to enter these drains. 3) Put on the remover straight to the graffiti painted on the wall. If you use a dense remover, it would not begin to drip right away. Allow it stand for the duration of time indicated on the label. 4) Brush the wall using a stiff, or hard scrub brush. This would aid in loosening the graffiti, and make it more simple and easy to clean the wall. 5) Activate your pressure washer, and direct it at the graffiti on your wall.
Select a concentrated spray and low-pressure setting for an optimum potency. Stand a minimum of three feet away from the wall. Also, brush in a backward and forward motion.

Graffiti removal tips

1) Get rid of the graffiti as soon as possible so that the paint will not be infused on the wall. 2) Prior to commencing or starting, apply the chemicals or solvents that you prefer to use in a small area, ideally in an obscure spot. 3) Exercise carefully when removing the graffiti, so as not to ruin or damage the original surface. 4) If you're not sure about how the wall will respond to chemicals, try painting over the graffiti.
