An introduction to Adventure Travel Magazine

Adventure Travel Magazine is a bi-monthly magazine focusing on outdoor pursuits taking place in a whole host of worldwide destinations from Europe to Asia and South America. The following article provides an introduction to the magazine.

About Adventure Travel Magazine

In print for over 15 years, Adventure Travel Magazine is one of the longest running magazines focusing predominantly on outdoor travel adventure. The magazine prides itself on providing up-to-date, well-informed insider information on trekking, mountaineering, cycling and mountain biking, as well as all kinds of water sports. Each issue features adventure stories from across all continents with expert advice on when to go, where to stay and what to see and do at each destination. Readers will also find "How to..." guides covering such topics as "How to plan a great adventure trip" to "How to buy the best trail bike". The magazine also has sections dedicated to equipment reviews and recommendations, interviews with recognisable adventurers and general travel tips.

Contributors

As with many of today's magazines about travel, Adventure Travel Magazine invites travelers from all walks of life to contribute their own tales of adventure in return for both a financial reward and a published story.
Stories Adventure Travel Magazine is pretty much open to any story so long as it fits with the style of the magazine and recounts a real travel experience. However, what they truly desire are unique and unusual stories. For example, a story about climbing Ayers Rock is considered better if the author arrived at the destination after a 270-mile bike ride from Alice Springs. Anyone who feels he has a story is invited to send it to the editor for submission and must feature specific sections such as Travelogue, Information Fact File, Images and Author Profile. Contribution payments are negotiated between the author and magazine and are made 60 days after publication.

Magazine issues

Adventure Travel Magazine is available to read in print and online. Each printed issues costs £3.50 and can be bought in WHSmiths stores, Martin McColl's newsagents and shops specialising in adventure travel. A yearly subscription is available at various prices for worldwide deliveries. Subscriptions are charged at £18.00 (UK), £32.00 (EU) and £38 (rest of the world). The magazine can also be read online at Adventuretravelmagazine.co.uk. In addition to the articles featured in print, the website has a readers forum and community section, with the latter including segments for Events, Groups, Photos and Videos.
