How much water should you drink per day?
How much water must we drink daily? 2 pints? 8 ounces or 2 liters? Although we all know we should drink water, often we don't know how much should we drink daily. Water is a precious friend when dieting or even in our daily life, so we should always be close to a bottle of precious water.
How much water to drink per day?
If it is impossible to tell how much water glasses to drink per day because it depends on many factors like physical efforts, height, weight and other factors, there are a list of thing to take in consideration to know how much you can drink. If you are someone who make huge physical effort everyday, you should drink a larger amount of water compared to other people. Because sweating make you lose much water. Another tip to know if your body lacks water is the color and odor of your urine. If it is colorless and odorless, it means your body have enough water to fulfill the work. When your urine is darker, it is a sign that your body needs more water. Darker urine is only acceptable in the morning. On a more practical side, 2 litres of water is sufficient to fill the water need for almost everyone who doesn't do huge physical work.
Contraindication of water
We cannot deny the importance of drinking water everyday but we must be aware that in some rare cases, drinking too much water is not advised.
- In case of adrenal and kidney problems, too much water is not advised. Also in the case you are taking diuretics, there is a contraindication where only your medical practitioner can advise you on how much to drink.
- It is also not advised in the case of giving it to infants. They should stick to breasts milk or special based formula for infants. Water in their nutrition should come later on.
My notes:
You should not drink all the water you would need in a day at once; divide it in small parts and drink it when needed; an example would be after a physical effort where you've sweat a lot.
