How to make a Hawaiian pizza

Pizza is fun food for sharing and pineapple makes it something that is sweet and exotic. A Hawaiian pizza is a tasty treat and not too difficult to make from scratch. In this article, find out how to make a Hawaiian pizza.

Ingredients

This ham and pineapple pizza is something that everyone can enjoy. For the pizza base, you will need: - Plain flour, - Yeast, - Sugar, - Salt, and - Tepid water. If you are not a confident cook, then it is perfectly okay to buy a ready-made base as this will make it easier. For the purist chefs among you, nothing but your own home-made dough will do. Knead your dough if preparing in this manner and let it rise for an hour. Once you're done, make sure that you have a greased baking tray to put the dough on to. The next stage will involve assembling the tasty toppings.

Topping

Pizza sauces can be purchased from most supermarkets, but this is unnecessary as you can make a good tomato base from the comfort of your own home. Blend tinned tomatoes or passata and herbs with a pinch of sugar along with olive oil and crushed garlic. You will have a perfectly acceptable equivalent which you can experiment with in the future. Cover your pizza base with this sauce and then add chunks of diced Mozzarella cheese, chopped cooked ham and drained pineapple chunks. This, then needs to be baked in a hot oven.

Baking and eating

The oven should be heated at around gas mark seven or two hundred and fifty degrees. The cooking time will vary from around fifteen to twenty five minutes depending on the type of oven that you are using. The area around the edge should be crisped and the cheese should be fully melted. Leave to cool slightly before serving. Due to the nature of the ingredients used, this is something that you van eat cold the next day or add to a picnic hamper. As it is a Hawaiian pizza recipe, this makes it an excellent choice to have as a tasty snack if you have decided to spend a day at the beach. It is the kind of food that is ideal on summer days.
